Changing HDD on Linux YAMS install

Post by marcusclarcus »

Hi there,

I have my yams setup (radarr, sonarr, qbittorrent, bazarr, prowlarr, plex) set up on my Linux computer. The install and media is on the current hard drive but it is full, and I have a 14tb coming tomorrow. My question is, how to I change the download path of all these apps to download to the new hard drive? The existing content I will just move over to the new one, but I haven’t been able to find on google how to change the download path for media going forward with the new hard drive.

Thanks!

Hey @marcusclarcus!

If you check your .env file located in /your/install/location/.env, you'll find your MEDIA_DIRECTORY configuration.

You'll need to:

  • Mount your new drive to your server and make it autonmount on restart. You can use your fstab file for this.
  • Stop YAMS.
  • Change your MEDIA_DIRECTORY env var to your new hard drive mount point.
  • Move all your media to the new hard DRIVE.
  • Start YAMS.

That's all!

Cheers!

Roger.
