How to manually update yams?

Post by capelare »

Hey! I've had an instance of yams installed for a while and wanted to dust it off and start using it again. First thing I do is yams update but it breaks things on the docker compose file, I fix them and try again. The website mentions something about backups, but I don't have that option in my yams script. I then go to the gitlab page and see that I must have an old version of yams, since update is now deprecated! I see that the message there when it was deprecated was Please update manually but I haven't been able to find any info on how to do this, not on the website nor this forum :(

Can someone please help me understand how should I update yams to the newest version without breaking anything?

Thanks!

Hey @capelare!

Sadly, automatically updating is not an option and updating manually is not officially suported. It doesn't mean that it doesn't work, is just a "you are on your own" type of situation.

There's people in the Discord that have been able to upgrade, feel free to join!

Cheers!
