[SOLVED] Unable to connect to qBittorrent - Radarr download client setup

Hello.

This project is my first foray into linux. I followed the installation guide with no changes or custom stuff. I have installed YAMS, I used ProtonVPN for my VPN service and qbittorrent. I got the username and password for OpenVPN from ProtonVPN and used that during the installation. Being new to linux, I don't think there was anything else I needed to do at that point to set up the VPN, correct me if I am wrong. When I run (yams check-vpn), I get "✅ Success: Your IPs are different. qBittorrent is masking your IP!"

When I moved on to setting up Radarr, I seem to be running into an issue. I am trying to add qBittorrent as a download client. When I put in the Host (my ip) with port 8081 and the login credentials I made and hit test it errors. It tells me "Unable to connect to qBittorrent." I put in 192.168.1.32, which is the address all of the YAMS service URLs have/use.

I am able to open qBittorrent using the YAMS qBittorrent service URL.

What might the issue be that is not allowing me to properly set up Radarr?

Hey @engineeringstacy!

Try using gluetun instead of the IP address as host. That should work.

Cheers!

Roger.

Thank you so much for your help. Using gluetun solved the issue. Hopefully this helps someone in the future as well.
